Sizzling Summer Days

Daytime Hair: The Braided Top Knot
1. Start by spraying loosely curled hair with a sea salt texturizer. (Lush317 recommends TIGI Catwalk Session Series Salt Spray.)
2. Section off your hair in a triangle shape where your bangs would be, starting from above the outer corners of your eyebrows and angling toward the top of your head.
3. Leaving the triangle section out, pull the rest of your hair straight up into a high ponytail at the crown of your head, then secure with a hair tie.
4. Tease your ponytail well, then wrap it around the base, covering the hair tie; tuck the ends under the bun and pin in place. (Stylist tip: Don’t worry if it doesn’t look perfect! We’re going for a casual look, so not every hair has to be exactly in place.)
5. Take the triangle section of hair and divide it into two sections (about where your part would normally fall). You can braid each section or twist together, as Claire did on Ashley.
6. Pull the braids or twists toward the bun, wrap the ends around the base and pin in place.
7. Loosen everything up a bit until it looks and feels good, then spray with hairspray to finish (Lush317 recommends L’Oreal Infinium Hairspray).
Daytime Makeup: Bronzed & Beautiful
1. Start by applying concealer under eyes.
2. Use a tinted moisturizer with SPF to even out skin tone without looking too heavy, then set with a light coverage powder.
3. Apply an eye shadow primer (Stylist tip: This will keep your eye makeup from running or creasing in the heat), then cover the entire lid with a shimmery, pale gold shadow. Apply a deeper gold shadow on the crease.
4. Line eyes with brown eyeliner, then give your lashes a coat of black mascara.
5. Finish with bronzer, rosy blush and a light coating of bronze lip color.
Steamy Summer Nights

Nighttime Hair: The Beachy Low Bun
1. Start by spraying rough dried hair with a thickening texture spray (Lush317 recommends Redken Quick Tease).
2. Curl hair in 1-inch sections. (Stylist tip: Wrap the hair around the entire barrel of the curling iron from root to end to create a looser, more natural curl.)
3. Leaving the bangs untouched, tease hair around the crown of the head.
4. Gather hair toward one side of your neck and secure with a hair tie.
5. Wrap a small section from your ponytail around the hair tie to conceal it.
6. Divide the remaining hair in your ponytail into 3 sections, lightly teasing and then twisting each section loosely around the base of the ponytail and securing into a messy bun.
7. Loosen everything up a bit until it looks and feels good, then spray with hairspray to finish (Lush317 recommends L’Oreal Infinium Hairspray).
Nighttime Makeup: Soft & Smoky
1. Start by applying concealer under eyes.
2. Use a tinted moisturizer with SPF to even out skin tone without looking too heavy, then set with a light coverage powder.
3. Apply an eye shadow primer, then cover the entire lid with a vanilla shadow. On the lid and up to slightly above the brow bone, apply a slate blue to create the base of the smoky eye.
4. Blend a black shadow from the lash line up into the lid, then give your lashes a coat of black mascara.
5. Fill in brows with a blonde eyebrow pencil.
6. Finish with bronzer, lip liner and a light coating of rosy lip gloss.
