1. Munch and Crunch
The newest addition to the hotel scene in Harrisburg is Hotel Indigo. The stylish hotel offers guests three different classes of modern styled bedrooms as well as boardrooms for professional meetings. More notable for locals, however, is a new restaurant to try. The Riverrun Lounge, located inside the hotel, offers a unique and regionally sourced menu. The lounge serves dishes with a local flare, such as Kunzler’s Lebanon bologna or chocolate covered bacon topped with Popped Culture popcorn and covered in none other than Hershey Chocolate. Stop in for craft cocktails at happy hour every day from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

2. Secret Sweet Spot
Channel your inner Jay Gatsby by spending a swanky evening at the speakeasy 205. The club is hidden behind Anna Rose Bakery, where you need to buy a specific treat featured on 205’s Facebook page to get the code to enter the club. The most exciting part is finding the secret entrance to the Prohibition-style speakeasy. To get inside, the code must be dialed into the pay phone which then opens up to the glamorous club. 205 is only open Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Dress code is casual chic.

3. Eco Perks
If you’ve been looking for a way to reduce your environmental footprint, Commute PA may have the perfect program to help you start. By registering on their website, you can receive prizes and rewards for walking, biking, carpooling, and taking public transportation rather than driving. Their site offers a carpooling platform for users to connect with other lone drivers. Log your commute on their website and earn points toward rewards, such as discounts at local businesses or entrance into a raffle for gift cards to places like Starbucks, Target, or Sheetz. The goal of the program is to reduce traffic and create better air quality in Pennsylvania.
