One Chic Boutique
Looking to increase your stash of vintage clothing? Stash, a new boutique in Harrisburg, has just what you need, from clothes and accessories, such as shoes and swimwear, to household objects, like some new salt and pepper shakers. This new store, opened in April of this year, is run by a team of four female midtown residents: Anela Bence Selkowitz, Haley Harned, Jess Flynn and Jen Merrill, who have devoted their time and energy to their love of collecting retro clothing, jewelry and accessories from around the area. They handpick all of the store’s upcycled merchandise and have also included goods from local artists who create wearable art, such as T-shirts, jewelry and belts. Their store motto? “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.”

Fashions of Faith
What do cute jewelry, scarves, fun accessories and chic T-shirts have in common? They all share the same theme: “walk in love.” The Lancaster store with this name began as a fundraiser for founder and designer T.J. Mousetis’ mission trip to Russia in 2005. Mousetis printed the phrase “walk in love.” on 100 new blue shirts and sold them to friends, family and even a few strangers via his Myspace page. He met local photographer Brooke Courtney through their church, bartered free photos for T-shirts and the two married a year later. The duo began making walk in love. a full-blown company by creating a new website, new designs and introducing a seasonal kiosk to their local mall. Thanks to the support of 280 funders from across the globe, walk in love. raised $30,795 in just 43 days to officially open a retail store in Lancaster’s Park City Center in mid-2011. Stop into walk in love. to see its latest Full of Glory collection, a line of hoodies, long-and short sleeve-shirts, tanks and crew necks, which are perfect for this year’s holiday gifts

Reader’s Lens: Susquehanna Valley Snapshots
We asked for photos of inspiring women. Kaitlin Sawyer submitted this:
“The most inspiring woman in my life is my mom [Harrisburg resident Tracey Calhoun]. Not only is she a high-gear career woman, she raised a family and always made sure she had time for me and my activities. She is my loudest cheerleader, biggest critic and best friend. If I become half the woman she is, I will know I did just fine.”
From our Facebook Fans:
We asked: What are you most thankful for in 2013?
“A home, freedom, the opportunity to document life. We forget how far we have come in the last 50 years! I feel very blessed.” -Cambria Bailey
