Twice as Nice
The longtime Camp Hill favorite Sophia’s on Market has recently expanded to a location in a new kind of neighborhood! Sophia'a at Walden has found its home in Charter Homes' Walden, a "live/work/play" community in Mechanicsburg. Sophia’s second namesake establishment has many of the same “neighborhood café and bakery” offerings as the original, but also features BYOB dinner with table service and is open seven days. More recently, Sophia’s at Walden has incorporated Sunday brunch into its schedule, with scrumptious menu items like strawberry-stuffed French toast. As always, all Sophia’s locations use quality ingredients and made-from-scratch soups, dressings, breads and other baked goods. Stop by today to taste their signature breakfast and lunch sandwiches and salads, or decadent dinner entrees. Insider secret: Try the founder’s (Sophia—of course) most recent favorite, spicy Thai peanut chicken on grilled multigrain ciabatta with peanut aioli & Asian style slaw—it’s delish!

Sweet Dreams
The compassion of a child has opened the hearts and minds of those in Lancaster County through Alyssa’s Bedtime Stories, a non-profit organization that provides books and pajamas to children in need during the Christmas and Hanukkah season. 14-year-old Alyssa Deraco
and her mother, Lillian Smith, formed the organization in October 2009 because of Alyssa’s desire to help those less fortunate than herself. “I wanted to give kids that don’t have much a way to forget their troubles by reading,” Alyssa explains. “Books have helped me, and I want to share my love of books and reading with kids to help them too.” Donations to Alyssa’s Bedtimes Stories go to places including Milagro House, Clare House and Domestic Violence Services of Lancaster County to benefit children who don’t have a home. Alyssa’s Bedtime Stories may be most active around the holiday season, but there is never a wrong time to give to those in need! Check out her website to find out more on how to donate.
