Bouquets of Hope
Cheering people up is just what they do at Hospice of Central Pennsylvania. So when an opportunity arose to recreate bouquets of flowers for patients from recently used wedding arrangements, Hospice’s helpful volunteers quickly began rolling up their sleeves and getting to work. Volunteers now organize flower donations from weddings, graduations, proms and other events into floral gifts for Hospice patients throughout the region. For more information or to donate flowers from any occasion, contact Hospice of Central Pennsylvania.

Going Pink
The word mammogram usually does not elicit a positive reaction. Most people, especially women, recoil or make an uncomfortable exit from the conversation when that word is used. However, Pennsylvania is putting a positive spin on the word and joining the courageous pink supporters of the PA Breast Cancer Coalition by changing the rules for 3D mammograms in the Keystone State. With the help of the organization and their honorary chair, PA First Lady Frances Wolf, 3D mammograms will now be offered fully insured and cost free to all women in the state of Pennsylvania. This is a huge step forward to helping women fight this disease and afford prevention tests like mammograms, which can cost between $60 and $600.

Broadened Care
Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster opened a full-service orthopedic facility in North Cornwall Township, Lebanon County. With their new location, residing next to the North Cornwall Health Center, Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster (or OAL) hopes to improve the quality of their care as well as help care for people from all over Central Pennsylvania. “Our vision is to provide Lebanon residents a single destination facility for orthopedic care, close to their homes or work locations,” says OAL president Dr. Paul Carroll. Similar to their other locations in Lancaster County, OAL plans to incorporate the same technology needed to provide MRIs, interventional pain management, physical and hand therapy and outpatient surgery in their new facility.

"When having an argument, stay on topic. There is no reason when arguing about, say, money, to bring up the fact that he never cleans up after himself. (Also, try to avoid absolutes like ‘never' and ‘always.' These just make things worse.)”—Suzanne Sylvanus Burt
"Hold hands naked during an argument!" —Jamie Lynn McGrath Greger
