The Joshua Group is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide hope and support for at-risk children through educational and vocational opportunities. Located in the Allison Hill neighborhood of Harrisburg, the Joshua Group has multiple programs to assist learning for these children. The group’s after-school program provides academic tutoring and social mentoring, and the free preschool program consists of a kindergarten readiness curriculum for children aged 3 through 5. For older children, the Joshua Group offers GED prep classes, advice on resumes and employment or college applications and the proper way to set goals. If you have an interest in helping children in an educational atmosphere, you can volunteer for the Joshua Group , or help simply by donating school supplies. Reader’s Lens: Susquehanna Valley Snapshots
We asked readers to submit their most romantic date photos, and Susquehanna Valley resident Jen Pyne sent us this shot:

“We live such busy lives nowadays. My favorite date was with my husband [this past fall.] We [lay] in a park, and he proposed to me. It was so nice to just relax and enjoy each other's company. No bells and whistles needed.”

Beer, Here!
Are you a craft beer connoisseur? Make your way over to the capital region, where 12 local breweries have partnered to form Hershey Harrisburg Craft Beer Country. Heritage Handkerchiefs
Skip and Jo, the business' namesakes, are high school sweethearts, married in 1952. Together, they make quite the fashionable pair; Skip always looks sharp in a suit and tie, and Jo can finish any look with the best accessories. Skip and Jo raised three daughters and were then blessed with six grandchildren, one of whom founded this business. Philip Given is responsible for the Skip and Jo brand, which is a men’s goods line handmade in York. Each handkerchief is constructed, purchased and brought to life right in his favorite city. The products are sold at Arthur & Daughters in downtown York, as well as online at www.yorshoppes.com.
