All-Clad cooking products are known for being top of the line. But, did you know they are manufactured in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, the same place they were produced forty years ago?
All-Clad started out as Clad Metals in 1967, creating bonded metals and coins. After years in the bonded metal industry, in 1971 John Ulam started All-Clad Metalcrafters, with the first cookware collection introduced in 1974. All-Clad products appealed to working chefs because of the professional quality.
In 1990, All-Clad introduced stainless cookware, changing culinary performance forever. Their Stainless Collection cookware has a bonded construction with an aluminum core for even heat distribution. The Stainless Collection includes non-stick cookware and stainless cooking tools, including pans, skillets, grilles, roasters, and griddles. All items in the collection are dishwasher safe.
All-Clad also introduced the Copper Core Collection in 1999 and the d5 Collection in 2009 for advanced culinary performance. The combination of copper and stainless aluminum allows each piece of cookware to heat up evenly and quickly. The Copper Core Collection features state-of-the-art stir fry pans, pots, and more.
American craftsmen still handcraft every piece of high-performance bonded cookware with American-made metal in the Canonsburg mill, about twenty miles south of Pittsburgh. Every detail of every piece of cookware is thoroughly inspected to ensure optimal cooking performance, and the cookware is guaranteed to last a lifetime. Almost every single piece of metal not used in the handcrafting of the cookware is recovered and recycled, right down to the metal dust from the sanding process.
Each piece of cookware has a core made of pure aluminum, stainless steel, or copper on the bottom and sides, which helps evenly distribute the heat. All-Clad cookware also has long stick handles designed to stay cool, with the comfort of the cook in mind. Although All-Clad is popular with professional chefs in four-star restaurant kitchens, the cookware is also perfect for home cooking.
In 2013, the All-Clad Chef Ambassadors Program was founded to encourage cooking enthusiasts to try new recipes at home, experiment with cooking techniques and learn about skilled chefs such as Thomas Keller, Hugh Acheson, and David Chang. The chefs help test All-Clad products and inspire customers to try new recipes. The chefs’ testimonials, exclusive recipes and more information can be found at www.allcladchefs.com.
All-Clad products are available for purchase across the country at retailers such as Williams-Sonoma, Macy’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, and online.
