Pianist Gilbert Kalish has given numerous world-premiere performances of important 20th-century compositions, many of which were written especially for him. He made the first recordings of several of Charles Ives’ works for solo piano, chamber ensemble, and voice and piano. Part of Susquehanna University’s Martha Baker Blessing Musicians-in-Residence series, which features a series of workshops, master classes, rehearsals and performances by distinguished musicians.
