Springettsbury Township – Saturday In The Park

York, PA – Springettsbury Township’s 14th Annual Saturday in the Park will be held on September 24, 2016 at the Springettsbury Township Park!  This is a fun-filled community celebration with something for everyone! Admission to the event is free. Various activities may require a small fee.

Central York Communities That Care hosts an invitational breakfast at 9:30 am to present the Spirit of Youth Awards. Beginning at 11:30 am, the Springettsbury Township 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament will get started!

The Carnival area is open from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm.  Enjoy 7 different inflatable rides such as a giant slide, a carousel bounce house, obstacle course and rock climbing wall. There will be games, face painting, balloon animals and many area businesses will have booths located in this area. Fire and Police department vehicles will be on display and the Fire Smoke House will be onsite with demonstrations. Vendors will be providing food throughout the park.

Tickets are available for A Taste of Springettsbury, benefitting the Springettsbury Sertoma Club.  From 2:00 – 4:00 pm sample from 8 area restaurants, have a chance to win door prizes and participate in the Sertoma Club’s small games of chance including pull tabs, 50/50 drawing and raffles. Restaurants include Moe’s, Never Forgotten BBQ, Chick-Fil-A, Smoothie King, Jimmy Johns, Rita’s Italian Ice, Brewery Products and Blue Heron. Tickets are $10 for persons 12 and over, $5 for children 5-11, children under 5 are free!  Tickets can be purchased the day of the event or in advance online www.springettsbury.com or at the Township office. Central York Communities that Care is sponsoring a Chicken Barbeque courtesy of Porky’s! Meals can be purchased for $8.50 from 3:00-5:00 pm in front of the concession stand. The Amphitheater will host a variety of events, presented by Buchart Horn, including local dance team performances from 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm. Local artist, Kayla Kroh will perform at 5:30 pm, www.kaylakroh.com. The Blues Brotherhood will perform at 6:45 pm, www.bluesbrotherhood.com. End the day watching an outstanding fireworks show, presented by Sprint, at 8:00 pm! 

In case of inclement weather, some events will be held on Sunday, September 25. Events that will be held rain or shine on September 24 include: 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament (Moved to CYMS Gymnasium), Chicken Barbeque, Spirit of Youth Awards and Taste of Springettsbury.
