As part of Millersville University's Sexuality and Gender Institute's academic lecture series, Dr. Cris Mayo, associate professor of education & gender and women's studies at the University of Illinois, will present on September 11. Mayo, who will present on the topic "Opening the Subject: Sexuality, Gender Identity and Educating for Possibility" is also the author of Disputing the Subject of Sex: Sexuality and Public School Controversies.
All Sexuality and Gender Institute Lecture Series events will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. in Myers Auditorium in McComsey Hall.
The purpose of the Sexuality and Gender Institute is to create a culture at Millersville University that openly and intellectually explores sexuality and gender by offering an academic lectures series that features experts from across the nation, and hosting "brown bags" that examines local issues and new research.
