to
Center of American Craft N Queen St, Lancaster, Pennsylvania 17603
Lancaster's June First Friday is the opening of the 70 Works exhibition at the Center of American Craft. This exhibition marks the PA Guild of Craftsmen’s 70th anniversary and features 70 works of craft handmade by its members. 70 Works runs through July 26th but we have an exciting line up for our opening reception from 5-9pm on June 6th. From 6 – 9pm you can meet the artists of 70 Works. Ceramic artist Tim Knight, photographer Peter Hewitt, rug hooker Judy Carter, and glass artists Dan Burstein & Cagla Inselbag will be here to answer your questions. You can also watch demonstrations by fraktur artist Adele Lynham, Ed Youtz will be making wooden tops (and a mess), and Eric Weit will be spinning dog hair into yarn! And don’t miss this month’s Fine Craftsman of the Month, Art Shoemaker, demonstrating his wood carving technique.
