Fall Banquet
"Meet John Bartram: The Father of American Botany".
The historical re-enactor, Kirk Brown, portrays Bartram (1699-1777), who is credited with introducing more than 200 species and 100 trees to the horticulture trade. He will focus on the horticultural history of America as it began in Philadelphia.
Brown has presented his program at the Smithsonian Institution and elsewhere in the eastern United States, where Bartram searched for plants and documented their habits.
This promises to be one of the most entertaining programs ever.
Be sure to come early for some punch and Hors d'oeuvres provided by the club. You can play the Gardeners Quiz and even win a prize. There will be a 50- 50 raffle and of course, the cash bar.
The Key members of 2012 will be named at the meeting and will receive their Key member pin.
Price: $27.00 for MEMBERS $32.00 for NON-MEMBERS
