Market Square Concerts Summermusic 2013 Opening Concert

Market Square Concerts presents Summermusic 2013, an annual three-concert festival, offering an opportunity to hear chamber music with mixed instrumentation not usually presented during Market Square Concerts’ main season. Opening concert will take place on Friday, July 19 at 8 pm in Market Square Church.
This concert will highlight dry wit of Igor Stravinsky, folksy humor of Bohuslav Martinů, light-hearted style of Camille Saint-Saëns and noble elegance of Mozart.
Performers will include Stuart Malina, pianist and Artistic Director of the Harrisburg Symphony, pianist Ya-Ting Chang and violinist Peter Sirotin, directors of Market Square Concerts, Fiona Thompson, principal cellist of the HSO, Gerard Reuter, oboist of the renowned Dorian Wind Quintet, clarinetist Christopher Grymes, who performed Mozart Clarinet Quintet recently during Market Square Concerts 12-13 season, bassoonist Peter Kolkay, winner of the Concert Artists Guild International Competition and Geoffrey Pilkington, French horn, winner of the International Horn Competition of America.
Tickets are $30, $25 for seniors, $5 for college students and free for school-aged students. All three concerts of the Summermusic 2013 are available for $80, $70 for seniors.
