L'anima d'amore - The Soul of Love: A Valentine's Concert

Arts on the Square presents “L’Anima d’Amore: The Soul of Love” with four of the region's finest vocalists and a six-piece chamber orchestra performing in the sanctuary of historic Market Square Presbyterian Church, 20 S. Second Street, Harrisburg, at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16. Under the direction of Tyler Canonico, minister of music and organist at the church, they will perform arias from some of the world's favorite romantic operas, including Mozart's “The Marriage of Figaro” and “Don Giovanni;” Saint-Saëns' “Samson and Delilah;” and music by Puccini, Wagner, and Hahn. The program will also include the world premiere of a new composition based on the American folk tune Shenandoah by Jordan R. Markham, arranged for harp, violin, cello, and piano.
Soloists for “L’Anima d’Amore” are Tara Savarino and Brittany Leanne Drumm, sopranos; Joshua Kobel, tenor; and Jordan Markham, baritone. They are graduates of some of the east coast’s leading conservatories and have appeared with several symphony orchestras. They will sing individually and in various combinations.
The snow date for this event is February 23. The church will provide parking in the attached city-owned Market Square Garage. You may enter the church directly from the first level of the garage or from the entrance on Second Street. The church is accessible.
Tickets for this Valentine's event are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Children and students with student ID are admitted free. Purchase advance tickets at www.marketsquarechurch.org/concerts.
