Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra’s Masterworks 1 Concert
to
The Forum Walnut St., Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17113-1929
Like Beethoven a century earlier, Gustav Mahler reinvented the symphony at the end of the 19th century. Already in his First Symphony we hear a fully-formed composer who wants to capture all of life’s experiences in one vast musical mural. On the first half, Rachel Barton Pine performs one of the violin repertoire’s greatest concertos.
Featuring:
Brahms: Violin Concerto (guest artist: Rachel Barton Pine, Violin)
Mahler: Symphony No. 1
