Students will learn some of the basics that are part of all bookbinding projects and then will make a small journal/sketchbook using materials provided by the instructor. Their book will open completely flat; it is a structure that is relatively easy to make with simple tools at home. Once they have completed their first book, they will have an opportunity prepare the materials to create a second book so they can practice the skills they have learned.
