Students will learn basic proportions for the human form, and study methods for judging proportional relationships related to the figure. Emphasis will be on understanding the structure of the body and head, through basic anatomy and historical systems of drawing. Techniques for using charcoal and conte will be emphasized, with students eventually working on toned paper with black and white media. NOTE: Nude models may be present during some sessions of this course.
