to
Lock 2 Recreation Area 2100 Fishing Creek Road , Wrightsville, Pennsylvania 17368
On Saturday September 28th, 2019, the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association will be hosting the 1st Annual Dam Bridge Challenge in part of York County’s Watershed Week. The Dam Bridge Challenge is a series of 3 different races along the Susquehanna River on Lake Clarke starting and finishing near the Lock 2 Recreation Area. The 1st race will be the main event and is a 10-mile race. Entrants can choose to either race down to the Safe Harbor Dam and back to Lock 2 or paddle up to the 462 bridge and back to Lock 2 (10mi each route). The 2nd race is a 3.5-mile loop around Grace Island and back to Lock 2. The 3rd race is a 1-mile sprint to Fishing Creek and back to Lock 2. Following the races, we will host bands, beer, food and fun family activities around Shank's Mare Outfitters property. This event will serve as a fundraiser for LSRA and an opportunity for our organization to bring together our communities in support of clean water and learn more about our advocacy initiatives. We will be joined by various conservation groups and organizations who share our common interest in saving and protecting our beautiful Susquehanna River.
