6th Annual Mental Illness Awareness Walk
to
Veterans Memorial Park (batting cages) Roosevelt Ave., York, Pennsylvania 17403

The National Alliance on Mental Illness York County will hold its 6th Annual Mental Illness Awareness Walk in York, at the conclusion of Mental Illness Awareness Week. It will be held on October 10, 2015, at Veterans Memorial Park. NAMI offers support, education and advocacy to those who have a mental illness and their families at no charge. In order to continue offering these services, we count on county funding, and sponsorships from the walk, which is our yearly fundraiser.
Equally as important as raising much needed funds, the walk helps to create awareness. Many people won’t seek the help they need because of the stigma that surrounds mental illness. NAMI believes that mental illness is a physical illness of the brain. People, who have a mental illness, can and do, lead productive lives.
Bring the whole family! There will be free food, drawings and prizes. Well behaved pets on a leash are also welcome.
