Local Love: Heather and Christian

I grew up in State College and with a love of the Nittany Lions. Christian grew up about an hour and a half away in Camp Hill with a passion for athletics. After high school, we both attended Penn State. Me, mostly for the social scene, while Christian had a full football scholarship.

At Penn State, we circulated among the same group of friends, went to the same parties and bars, lived on the same street—we have even found pictures of us at parties and bars where one of us will be in the background—but never really knew one another.

It wasn’t until a chance encounter a decade later, while we both were visiting home after moving to new cities, that we connected. I lived in Nashville at the time, while Christian was moving back to Camp Hill from Philadelphia. We talked for a few weeks long distance before Christian won me over with an official “first date” to a true PA staple, Hoss’s (I’m serious) after I had mentioned how much I missed it while living in the south. I moved north soon after and the rest is history.
