Heather and Vincent wanted to pay tribute to their different cultures and blend them together in their morning wedding. Vincent is Chinese/Vietnamese and Heather is Scandinavian/German. They included a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, mandarins, and the colors red and gold for good luck in the Chinese culture. In Scandinavian culture, the bridal party consists of one attendant each for the bride and groom. Heather chose her only sister as her maid of honor, and Vincent selected his best friend as his best man. Even though the wedding was during the day, they wanted to keep the bridal party attire formal. The women wore black evening gowns, and the men wore black suits, floral ties, and matching floral pocket squares. Heather’s dress was designed by Needle & Thread, and she changed into a red reception dress by David Meister with 3-D applique flowers. Their favorite part of their big day was spending time with their extended family and friends, most of whom were from out of town. Prince Street Café brought a mobile espresso cart to serve coffee and tea to guests. Heather and Vincent had two different cake flavors: dark chocolate with mocha buttercream and banana cake with cream cheese filling. The couple met on Match.com. Vincent proposed on their two-year anniversary at home. They are planning to honeymoon in South Korea and Japan this summer.
