Aric and Mickayla met in 2012 while they were in high school. Aric proposed to Mickayla at the top of a rock wall while rock climbing together. They share a love of playing Skyrim, and they spent hours playing together to find ways to incorporate it into their wedding. The game takes place in a fictional Nordic environment, so they included furs, winter elements, and evergreens in the decorations. Aric and Mickayla’s vows were written on scrolls to add to the theme, and their cake was customized to be Skyrim-themed. The cake was three tiers with vanilla, chocolate, and red velvet cake with Bailey’s Irish Cream icing. They included their dog in the ceremony; she is named after the goddess of love. The wedding party wore armor to go along with the theme as well. Mickayla chose her wedding dress because she fell in love with the mermaid style and the subtlety of the sequins and lace. Their favorite part of the day was the intimacy they shared with their guests as they exchanged their vows. Aric and Mickayla loved seeing the months of planning with their vendors come together. After the wedding, the couple took a short vacation to Gettysburg to relax and sightsee. They are planning a longer honeymoon in Iceland for their one-year anniversary.
