When you sit down and have a conversation with David Lyall, the President of David Lyall Home & Design, the word “authentic” comes to mind. Whether it’s a commercial project or a residential, David strives for what he calls “inspirational design without the attitude”.
The culture of eliminating pretense while staying laser-focused on a project not only makes the customer more comfortable, it improves communication with the client. “Great communication between designer and client is key to a superior finished interior”, David likes to say.
David’s work always includes a full-time, in-house team to work and install each project. Thirty years of combined, thoughtful experience help bring each installation to complete customer satisfaction. David Lyall Home & Design also includes three additional designers, and rich, deep relationships with architects and contractors who have helped the firm develop and build a hands-on, start to finish approach.
A visit to David’s showroom at North Prince & Walnut streets, just a one block walk from Lancaster’s “Gallery Row”, makes for a fun, insightful and inspired addition to the city’s electric arts, shops and restaurants. There, in a converted tobacco warehouse, you’ll explore 9,000 square feet of features, design furniture, and accents. It all comes together as a result of David’s deep understanding of and his joy in buying, selecting, and bringing together things that make a satisfying home.
David resides in a Lancaster city, 100-year-old Georgian home with his partner of 15 years, Douglas, and their rescue companion, Batdog. When not loving renovating his own home, he can be found sipping a vanilla cappuccino or wandering art museums, gathering inspiration.
