On Saturday, March 28, at 8 pm at Whitaker Center Donald Sinta Quartet, winner of the 2013 Concert Artists Guild International Competition in NYC will perform its innovative “No Strings Attached” program of string quartets by Dvorak, Barber, Shostakovich and Grieg’s Holberg Suite arranged for the saxophone quartet.
Since forming in November of 2010, The Donald Sinta Quartet (DSQ) has quickly achieved international renown for their performances, completely memorized presentation, and championing of the very latest repertoire from emerging young composers.
DSQ have made history by being the first saxophone quartet ever to win 1st Prize in the Concert Artists Guild International Competition in NYC. The group also received the Alice Coleman Grand Prize at the 2013 Coleman International Competition in LA.
