to
Kline Library South 29th Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17104
Buddhists believe that when our mind is at peace, we are naturally happy and positive. In a world of so many responsibilities, it is comforting and essential to know that a simple meditation practice can bring immediate results in our life. In this class, basic meditation techniques will be explained as well as some guidance for healthy and positive thinking.
This talk will be given by Julie Francisco, Resident Teacher of Kalpa Bhadra Kadampa Buddhist Center.
Julie has studied and taught Kadampa Buddhism for many years. She has also engaged in extensive meditation retreat and is well-qualified to introduce others into Buddha’s teachings and meditation practices. She previously served as the Education Program Coordinator at Amitayus Kadampa Buddhist Center in Philadelphia while also working a regular job in the corporate sector. Julie shows a clear example of how to be a modern, lay Buddhist practitioner in a busy city, and presents Buddha’s teachings in an eloquent and inspiring manner.
