THE THEME

A perfect mix of traditional and casual, the event began in St. Patrick’s Shrine, with its fairy-tale bridal setting. On to the warm tones of the Carlisle Ribbon Mill, where artfully strung table numbers, banners and lights and local, natural florals added romantic yet rustic touches. Mason jars held ferns, summer blooms and wispy fronds, and tables were set with burlap runners and hand-dyed and -cut table cards.

THE RELATIONSHIP

Cami and Jon met one night at the Appalachian Brewing Company in Camp Hill. They didn’t know it was Jimmy Buffet night, so they stood out without Hawaiian shirts. Their banter was immediate, and kept them there long enough to receive a request to join the Jimmy Buffet Fan Club…which they declined.

THE DETAILS

Cami’s silk organza gown featured an alencon lace bodice, spaghetti straps and a full trumpet skirt. The bridemaids’ cocktail-length dresses were silk chiffon in Casablanca blue, setting off the males’ two-button gray tuxedos. The comfort food—a mac & cheese bar, Caesar salad, roasted tomato soup, and pulled pork sandwiches—kept guests coming back for more. Cami and Jon indulged their sweet tooth with “lots of cakes,” which were set on milk glass stands, and guests were spotted swiping homemade fudge long before the meal. Florals featured lavender gomphrena, snapdragons, Queen Anne’s lace, and a cockscomb wreath.

THE HITCH

It would have been fine for Cami to hand-craft the wedding paper goods...except for three things. One: there were 250 invites, save-the-date cards, menus and programs; two: the process required cutting, stamping, dyeing, and calligraphy; and three: a cast stretched from her finger to her elbow a third of the way into the invites.
