On May 14, Susquehanna Style teamed up with the Demuth Museum & the Lancaster Museum of Art to make art and fashion come to life for one Stylish evening!
Style Insiders and art appreciators arrived to the exclusive venue ready to ROCK the night away! We put the emphasis on the “rock” because Tait Towers in Lititz is literally the place where rock ‘n’ roll dreams (and state of the art performance sets and stages) are made! And yes, that is THE signature Rolling Stone’s tongue in the pictures, but the stylish surprises didn’t end there!
As if “arriving in style” wasn’t already a given, guests were welcomed by several luxury Mercedes-Benz provided by Mercedes-Benz Lancaster. One guest even walked away with a night out in Philadelphia with a top-of-the-line sprinter van!
Event style and savory eats were provided by JDK who made sure that every detail was artful, fashionable, and rockin’ - right down to serving soft pretzels off of umbrellas! And, what party would be complete without delicious sips, including local brew provided by Appalachian Brewing Company. A special shout out to chef Tim Carr of Carr’s Restaurant for curating the VIP lounge complete with gourmet eats perfectly paired wines and beer.
Art appreciators were able to relish hand-selected art by the museums, while sitting stylishly in lounges provided by Buck Home Furnishings. Plus, our Platinum Sponsor, Willow Valley Communities offered guests the opportunity to take home their own, one-of-a-kind, piece of art! Two local artists live-sketched images of attendees' passions which ranged from sailing, to sports, and beyond.
Let’s talk rock and roll! What’s more fun, and more rockin’, then Guitar Hero? That’s right, thanks to Murray Securus, guests were able to play Guitar Hero at the event! The big screen and speakers powered by Haller Enterprises' home automation and audio/video division made everyone feel like a rockstar! If playing Guitar Hero gave attendees dreams of becoming famous, they were in luck! PhotoOlé was able to make their dreams come true with an awesome green screen, which let guests become a part of legendary bands like KISS, The Supremes, as well as place their faces in famous works of art. See all the funny photo booth pics in the gallery below.
So, if we’re talking about rock and roll, it may seem like we are forgetting one important detail - the music! Mike Miller from KISSFM and Mixed UP Productions was there to get the party started & emcee the entire event!
The fashion show featured top trends for summer including looks from: a.heather & co., Arthur & Daughters, Clemintines, Collage, Elizabeth & West Fashion House, Festoon, Filling’s, Indigo Bleu, Shoe Gallery Etc., The Strawberry Shop & TMB. Collectively, the boutiques featured looks to fit everyone’s style. And, talk about a runway! Tait Towers built a regal runway & Atomic provided lighting that really wowed.
The Style Girls would like to send a special thanks to everyone involved in Art of Style! Over 400 people, 11 independent boutiques, 77 models, and 4 local artists came together for ONE epic evening to support the Lancaster of Art and the Demuth Museum. Ticket sales and a portion of the proceeds as well as the raffle, a David Yurman Necklace provided by Vanscoy, Maurer & Bash, benefiting both museums.
Susquehanna Style magazine donated over $20,000 to The Art of Style benefiting Lancaster Museum of Art and the Demuth Museum which received $6,778 of net proceeds from this event, thanks to all of our sponsors, supporters, and community.
