What if you could give a creative, inviting, and pampering gift for Mother’s Day to not only your mother, but every woman you know (literally…every last one) for less than it would cost to buy a greeting card?
Step away from your computer screen and get ready to jump up and down, because it’s totally possible.
These little jars contain four ingredients you already have in your pantry, take 10 minutes from start to finish to create, and cost less than $5 total.
It’s a Mother’s Day Miracle.
Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub
- 3 Cups Sugar
- 1 Cup Olive Oil
- 4 Tablespoons Lemon Juice (fresh or bottled)
- 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
Combine the sugar, olive oil, lemon juice, and vanilla together in a large bowl and stir to combine.
Pour the mixture into the jar size of your choice. I split the scrub into one 12 oz jar and three 4 oz jars, but you could also do six 4oz jars, two 8oz jars and two 4oz jars, or any combination that works for you.
Since about a ½ Tablespoon of scrub is all it takes per use, a 4 oz jar contains enough mixture for about 16 uses, so it’s not as small as it seems.
A little tip you might want to include on the gift tag: store the jar upside down. This will help prevent the sugar and the liquid from separating. If necessary, it also helps to shake before opening.
(Bonus tip: this also works great for all-natural nut butters – minus the shaking. Stir a new jar once upon opening, then store upside down in the fridge. You’ll never have to struggle through stirring again!)
If you need more gifts than this recipe yields, no problem! It’s easily doubled or tripled.
Your mom, your grandmother, your sister, your daughter’s third grade teacher, your neighbor you’ve never met before…they’re all going to be over the moon about this scrub. Have fun!
(And be sure to keep one for yourself, too!)
