Winter Bird Count
to
Lancaster County Bird Club (LCBC) and the Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation co-sponsor a Christmas Bird Count for all ages. This activity gets children and adults outdoors during the Christmas holidays, and includes a worthwhile “citizen scientist” event. This abbreviated event teaches the adventure of bird identification in the wintertime. Volunteers from LCBC will teach participants how to use binoculars; loaners will be available if needed. LCBC members will lead participants on a 90-minute walk in Central Park to identify as many species as possible. Results at the end of the walk will be recorded on eBird. Register online or call (717) 295-2055 to register by noon on Thursday December 27. This is a FREE cooperative program with the Lancaster County Bird Club. All ages
