The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) 2nd Annual "Walk to Cure Diabetes"

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is holding its second “Walk to Cure Diabetes” event in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Sunday, June 2. The walk will take place at Clipper Magazine Stadium and the theme is “Striking Out Diabetes.” There is no registration fee for this event, but Walkers are encouraged to raise money for diabetes research. The average JDRF Walker raises $100. JDRF is excited to announce that Marcus Grimm and Ryan Neff are serving as Corporate Co-Chairs for the walk. Both of these gentlemen share a journey with Type 1 Diabetes. Marcus Grimm is the Marketing Director for Nxtbook Media (Lancaster, PA), a content marketing and advertising firm. Ryan Neff serves as Executive Vice President of Murray Securus and oversees the Benefits Solutions Division, which encompasses Employee Benefits, HR Consulting, Third Party Administration and Wealth Management.
REGISTRATION INCLUDES:
Admission to the Lancaster Barnstormers game after the Walk (as a thank you for your hard work raising money to find a cure!).
ACTIVITIES:
- Walk Around the Clipper Stadium. Participants will walk out the back of the stadium, back to the land owned by F&M, around a grassy area, and then back to the stadium. Signs will be provided.
- Meet Barnstormer's Mascot, Cylo!
- Enjoy Clipper Stadium's brand new playground and merry-go-round (open for JDRF participants) - See character juggler, Chris Ivey - Enjoy JDRF Temporary Tattoos and Hair Painting - Visit with various community vendors - Enjoy Ritas Italian Ice
JDRF is encouraging individuals affected directly or indirectly by Type 1 diabetes to support “Walk to Cure Diabetes” and start a team for the June 2 event. Registration begins at 2 p.m. and the walk will start at 4:00 p.m. Following the walk, there will be a Barnstormers game, including fireworks.
