Six contemporary artists employ ancient techniques of textile, pottery, ink and paint to interpret the signs and mysteries of this old world. From the vaults of heaven to the rocks carved by water, cold and hoary hands, “Ancient Marks” views the past with the eyes of now.

Mary Elizabeth Patton, painter, East Petersburg
Hector Ortega and Lydia Casada have recreated, from pottery shards, the ancient clay body and decoration of their ancestors. The work they have created is amazingly detailed and beautiful.
Their work is brought back from Mexico by Harrisburg potter Sharon Houseal, who has developed a relationship with them over the years.
