8th Annual Teacher Education Day

The Color of Teaching Mentoring Program will host the 8th annual Millerville University Teacher Ed Day on Friday, November 2 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Reighard Multipurpose Room in the Student Memorial Center. University students, faculty and staff are invited to join middle school and high school students of color who are considering a career in the education field.
Dr. David Stovall, associate professor of educational policy studies and African-American studies at the University of Illinois, will be the keynote speaker. Various local teachers of color will share their stories in a small group setting, tours of campus will be available and a student panel will address questions from the attendees. Lunch will be provided for all who register in advance. Entertainment will be provided by the Gospel Choir and Essence Dance Team.
On November 1, Stovall will also hold a lecture, entitled "Speaking Truth about Social Justice in Education," which will be held at 7 p.m. in Reighard Multipurpose Room in the Student Memorial Center.
