Who has been your biggest influence?
The biggest influence in my life has been my parents. Neither of my parents attended college, yet they both opened successful businesses and used their hard work ethic, to learn about their trade, and establish profitable businesses. Their ability to learn new skills, grow, and adapt to the changing business environments while simultaneously being present and active parents in our scholastic and extracurricular activities have always been inspiring.
What motivates you to be involved in your community?
I have always felt so safe and inspired by the people in my community, and I want to make sure others feel that way which is why I am so involved. I have always believed you can be part of the problem or part of the solution. Being involved in the community allows me to give my time and talents in helping solve problems and contribute to a positive environment. I firmly believe that it takes a village to raise a family, and run a business so the more positive contributions we give to that cause the better our community will be.
What advice would I give to my younger self?
The best advice I would give my younger self is, “Other’s opinion of you does not determine your worth.”
What is your idea of self-care?
My idea of self-care is taking time to exercise, getting my nails done, and taking the time have lunch with a friend, and turning my phone off and watching my children do something they love.
What message do I have for future generations of women?
I would let them know to keep fighting! You are worth it, you are not alone, and you can do anything you set your mind too. There are a lot of successful women who would love to help you, reach out to them.
