Carolyn & Steve Wood
September 15, 2019
With goals of throwing, “the best end of summer party,” Carolyn and Steve’s wedding seemed to be just that. This ceremony was classy and elegant and right in the middle of the beautiful Central Market district in downtown Lancaster. “I loved the blend of history surrounding us mixed with modern touches,” says Carolyn. “Being an interior designer, every detail was very important to me, so I mostly planned it all on my own with Steve's help.”
All of the fine details involved in the wedding were thoughtfully picked, and many companies behind each attribute are right in the Lancaster area. Having a passion for farm to table food, the couple chose catering from The Scarlet Runner. The lovely seating lounge and decor was selectively picked from Treasured Events.
Two details that stood out on this big day were the Gatsby inspired champagne tower, chosen over a cake, and the groom’s white jacket rather than a typical black tuxedo.
After the beautiful wedding, more of the couple’s friends joined the celebration for cocktails, small plates and dancing upstairs in the Masonic Hall. For their honeymoon, Steve and Carolyn went to the Finger Lakes in New York.

Vanessa & Ben Nagle
September 21, 2019
Vanessa’s mantra during wedding planning was “nobody cares” in order to relieve some of the stress that comes with event organization. “Meaning the little things I was worried about or the big, grand ideas I had, no one would know if they didn't come to fruition.” This helped create a small, intimate, meaningful, and unforgettable day full of love. “We kept our wedding small because we wanted to see everyone, talk to everyone, and hug all of their necks.”
This nature-inspired, graceful wedding was everything a bride could imagine. Held at Pineapple Manor, an 1885 Victorian on the corner of Millersville and Lancaster City, this event gathered friends and family of Ben and Vanessa in the property’s formal English gardens while one of Ben’s closest friends performed the ceremony. Vanessa reveals, “It was so special having someone we know and love friends performed the ceremony. Vanessa reveals, “It was so special having someone we know and love with their dachshund, Frankie, who also was featured as the ring bearer.
Another important role played by a best friend was the photographer, Kris Weiss. “She made sure stuff got done and people were where they needed to be.” The evening ended with a Pittsburgh-style cookie bar made by family and friends (complete with daschund shortbreads), and the cookies doubled as favors for guests to take along. They all headed to Decades, a vintage arcade and bar downtown, to continue the theme of laid-back fun after lawn games and the Italian-inspired dinner at Pineapple Manor. The bride had always dreamed of getting married in Italy, but the expense and planning were prohibitive, so a custom menu inspired by Italy was the perfect solution.
The newlyweds then drove to Charleston, where they had a relaxing week full of beach days and exploration—and got to see the famous pineapple fountain that inspired the one at Pineapple Manor, which they said their vows in front of and danced their firstdance beside, swaying to Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best.”

Brittany & Daniel Tomaso
March 30, 2019
“In December 2017, Dan planned a full day scavenger hunt that included all of my best friends” Brittany revealed. “In the end, he proposed in Riverfront Park where we first said, ‘I love you.’''
Fast forward to March 30 of 2019, Brittany and Daniel’s wedding had every detail planned down to the scripture. With a romantic black tie theme, black, white, gold, stripes, and deep hints of greenery, this special day is one to remember.
When asked about her dress, Brittany says she chose it because “I wanted something that was lace and romantic. I loved that Posh had plus-size options and I was able to customize the dress. The dress originally did not have sleeves, but we ordered extra lace and they were able to make the dress exactly as I envisioned it!”
There were various creative details to make note of that really made this day special. Particularly unique were the signature drinks named "Dark and Stormy" and "Champagne Shower" which ties into Dan’s meteorology career. Another fun addition to the evening was pizza delivery! Brittany reported, “Jojo's Hummelstown is our absolute favorite pizza place, so our late night bite was delivered directly to the dance floor from Jojo's!”

Alyssa & Robert Stiefel
May 19, 2018
Robert and Alyssa’s wedding conveyed a modest and dreamy day full of love. Their ceremony was garden-chic with a color scheme of lavender, grey, ivory, and gold. The stunning bride recounts, “It felt like you could physically reach out and grab all of the love in the room.”
One of Alyssa’s favorite details of her wedding was her dress. “I had been to a few shops trying on dresses, but they all seemed to have only a piece of the puzzle I was looking for.” After seeking out a few different boutiques, one store finally had the one. “My Mom went into CocoaCouture, called me from the store, and told me she was looking at my dress. I knew as soon asI saw it on the hanger that it was exactly what I was looking for. Intricate, femininely detailed lace on a fit and flare with gorgeous straps, a beautiful back, and show-stopping train. I never wanted to take it off,” says Alyssa. The couple had a vanilla buttercream funfetti cake, as well as an eccentric cake of banana with chocolate hazelnut buttercream made by Couture Cakery.
Robert and Alyssa’s exciting honeymoon included five days on Safari at Chitwa Chitwa in Sabi Sands National Park in South Africa. Alyssa says, “There are very few times as an adult that you get that Christmas morning feeling...you don’t know what’s going to happen, but you know it’s going to be awesome and you can’t wait! Every morning was like that on safari.”

Prentice & Alex Schanz
November 3, 2018
The wedding of Prentice and Alex dazzled sentimental value and was surrounded by things near and dear to their hearts. The celebration had a very organic look with stunning florals. The bride gushed over the “unbelievably talented” Tara Folker from Splints and Daisies who put together a stunning combination of garden roses, draping amaranths, orchids, heirloom chrysanthemums, nandina foliage, and toffee roses for a golden, eye-catching pop. Prentice loved the idea of heavier, moodier tones for her wedding that still carried a fun and playful vibe, so the couple worked with their vendors to do something unexpected and fun foreach of their wedding attributes.
One of the toughest yet most fun decisions that had to be made for this reception was choosing the cake. The couple decided to go for a 4-tier cake that featured dove gray fondant, gold details, and floral accents with three contrastive flavor combinations. Prentice says, “Jasmine Clouser at Couture Cakery was amazing to work with, and her cakes really do taste as good as they look!”
Unique elements of this day consisted of the groom’s blue tuxedo, the jewel-toned color scheme, and the welcome bags assembled by Prentice’s mother, which included whoopie pies from The Sweet Spot in Roots Market, snacks, water, and matchbox cars that honored Alex’s lifelong love of cars. The newly weds then honeymooned in Maui, staying at the Grand Wailea. The trip consisted of bike riding, sightseeing, and sunrise watching.
