THEIR LOVE STORY
We can start our love story by mentioning that the Galbreath men have a long track record of attracting older women. Brogan’s dad is six years younger than his mom, his brother is younger than his wife, so it was only natural that Brogan fell in love with an older woman, Maddie. When we were in high school, we were introduced to each other by our best friend, Bri (Brogan – a sophomore and Maddie, a senior). As cliché as it may sound, we spent that spring and summer falling in love. Our first year of dating was spent in a “long-distance relationship,” but our love only grew stronger and we continued dating through college and post-graduate studies. We quickly realized that we prefer to do everything together, rather than alone or even with anyone else. It’s true when they say, “When you know, you know.” and we knew that we were going to spend the rest of our lives together at a young age.

THEIR INSPIRATION
Prior to our engagement, we had only been to a handful of weddings; otherwise, we were clueless as to what we wanted. What we did know is that we wanted a huge party with our best friends, great food and drinks, a band, and lots of flowers. We had a rough track record of rain on all our big events, so it was important that we found a venue where it could be held either inside or outside. And we need to give an honorable mention to Maddie’s mom for all of her tips and recommendations after watching the show “Four Weddings” almost daily from the start of our engagement.

THEIR FAVORITE PART
It’s so hard to pick one part of our wedding day because it truly was the best days of our lives, surrounded by all of the people we love. Just like a lot of other couples, we postponed our wedding a year later due to COVID-19. The feeling of finally being pronounced as husband and wife in front of our friends and family after five years of dating and three years of being engaged was unbeatable. A close second was our first dance to “La Vie en Rose” for which we had taken a year of dance classes together.
THEIR ADVICE
We think it’s important that couples who are getting married and planning a wedding remember that it is their day. When going through the motions of postponing and potentially planning for a micro-wedding, we were constantly reminded by friends and family that it was our day and to make decisions based on what meant the most to us. Don’t stress over the little things! Hire a day-of coordinator! And remember that the most important part of the day is that when it ends, you will be married to the love of your life!
