THEIR LOVE STORY
Andrew and Kathy got to know each other by playing board games and Dungeons and Dragons together. They were good friends for many years, and found themselves spending more and more time together. They liked the same movies, laughed at the same jokes, and had a bunch of similar hobbies! Eventually, after finding themselves inseparable, Andrew asked Kathy out. They were both worried if dating would ruin their friendship, but decided to give it a shot. It turned out that dating only intensified their feelings for each other, and after a year of dating, Andrew proposed!

THEIR INSPIRATION
We wanted the day to be a celebration of us and our heritages, so we tried to incorporate as many traditions and cultures, from each of our backgrounds, that we could. This ran the gambit, from drinking from a German Nuremberg Bridal Cup for the first toast, giving out Jordan almonds, Andrew and his groomsmen wearing kilts with his clan tartan, our first dance being a Highland inspired dance to honor his Scottish heritage, and even having a Chinese Wedding Tea Ceremony the next day.
It was so much fun to incorporate the traditions from our various family backgrounds. And at the end of the day, with good food, good drink, good music and good people, it was sure to be a good time!

THEIR FAVORITE PART
For Kathy, it would probably be the "gate crashing"! One of the wedding traditions in many Asian cultures is to have a "gate crashing" before the wedding. In this, the bridesmaids put the groom and groomsmen through a series of fun and silly trials, to prove his worthiness to marry the bride. The trials Kathy and her bridesmaids chose included things like using nerf guns to shoot down "dangerous" stuffed animals, eating lemon rinds, and pinning cloth diapers on plushies while blindfolded. It was hilarious, and so much fun!
For Andrew, Kathy walking down the aisle during the church ceremony was his favorite part.

THEIR ADVICE
The biggest advice I can give is to gather addresses early, and double check with each individual / family that you have their correct contact details. We had some small wedding drama (luckily straightened out eventually), when we received old / incorrect addresses for some of our relatives. They never received invitations, and mistakenly believed that they were not invited!
