An archway adorned in ivory roses and baby’s breath petals, a picturesque backdrop of sage green foliage and translucent water and sophisticated hues of blacks and whites made Hannah and Luca Grippi’s wedding look like a fairytale come true.
The occasion was, in fact, a fairytale come true— and so much more—for Hannah, who says she’s been dreaming of having an enchanting, beautiful wedding ever since she was a little girl.
“While a black-and-white wedding never goes out of style, I wanted to add my own touch by incorporating hints of green and gold. These touches give our wedding a bolder look, yet still maintain the traditional and classy feel I always envisioned,” she says. “This blend of classic and bold elements makes the day uniquely mine, a perfect reflection of my dreams and style.”
Hannah and Luca fulfilled their dream on May 31, 2024, tying the knot at The Farm at Eagles Ridge in Lancaster. Their story begins in college (both Alvernia University alum and central Pa. natives), meeting shortly before the COVID pandemic. What would have been typical, going-out date nights turned into “cozy evenings cooking, watching movies and cherishing each other’s company” during the lockdown. Hannah says this allowed their relationship to “blossom.”
“It wasn’t long before we realized we were deeply in love,” she says. “Our relationship has grown into something truly beautiful and real, a testament to the strength of our love and connection.”
Hannah and Luca then got their first apartment together in Lititz, rescued a dog and got engaged. She says they enjoy discovering new restaurants, coffee shops and adventures, but what’s most important to them is spending quality time with their family and friends.
Therefore, it was evident to them that their fondness for their loved ones needed to be at the forefront of their big day.
“We wanted to do something truly special for our parents and bridal party, so we both wrote letters to our parents to read on the day of the wedding. I also took the time to write my bridesmaids personalized letters to open as we all got ready,” Hannah says. “As we sat together, reading these letters, it created such a touching and emotional moment for all of us. It was a beautiful way to start the day, surrounded by the people who mean so much to me.”
Part of their family includes Finley, Hannah and Luca’s rescue dog, and though Hannah says Finley couldn’t be there on their wedding day, he was not forgotten—and it “felt like he was right there celebrating with us.”
“Everyone who attended the wedding knows how much we adore our dog Finley, so we absolutely had to include him. … We featured his cute face on our napkins with the phrase ‘drinks on me!’ during cocktail hour. It was a huge hit,” she says.
Another important detail of their big day was the array of Italian desserts, which pay homage to Luca’s family which is from Italy. Hannah says this added a personal, and delicious, touch to the occasion while reminding them, again, of their love for family—and for their future.
“We are eagerly planning a trip to Italy in the next few years where we will visit Luca’s parents’ hometown,” she says. “The highlight of our journey will be renewing our vows in the same beautiful church where Luca’s parents exchanged their vows, creating a deeply emotional and unforgettable experience for us.”
Hannah says she and Luca have a future “filled with love and adventure,” and they truly cannot wait. Currently, she works as a nurse and Luca works in sales and marketing while also coaching boys soccer. They recently purchased their first home together in Lancaster— “an exciting step—” and they’re looking forward to walks with their dog, exploring new destinations and weekly date nights.
“As newlyweds, we feel an even deeper connection with each other and are so excited to start a family someday. We were extremely excited to begin this new chapter of our lives, surrounded by all our loved ones” she says. “It was the most magical day, and we know we’ll be cherishing those memories forever.”
