Ben and I met when we were in high school because I played club volleyball with his twin sister. After both Ben and I went on trips to Haiti separately, Ben asked me to meet up to talk about it! I told him I thought his sister should come with us so it wouldn't be a date, but on my way to meet up with them at Chickies Rock, I got a call from his sister saying she wasn't coming. So it ended up just being the two of us hiking, but after that we quickly became inseparable. During our junior year of college Ben proposed on a rooftop park in Philly with a ring that he had bought nine months prior.

We decided to get married as soon as we graduated in May, but in March, Ben tore his ACL in a volleyball game, and we were worried he wouldn't be able to walk at the wedding. Little did we know, a week later, the whole world would shut down because of COVID-19 and we were much more concerned about actually getting married than whether Ben could walk or not. When it came down to it, we knew we would be getting married on May 23rd 2020. Even if it was with just our siblings and parents, all we cared about was getting married. And honestly it was the most perfect, intimate, emotional wedding day with both of our families there to celebrate with us.
