20s: Pearls and Plaid
This season, pearls and plaid are everywhere. I’ve seen pearl necklaces, headbands, wallets, and all of the above. There is something about pearls that just make them timeless. Which is why I paired these pearl earrings with a plaid trench coat, for a more playful and edgy look. I kept the overall outfit basic, to make the plaid pop. If it’s a bit chillier, throw on some black tights underneath the skirt for extra warmth.

30s: Loafers and Chains
I never thought I’d see the day that heeled loafers were back, but here we are! I absolutely love this trend as it incorporates a bit of shoe history with the 16th century throwback. These black-heeled loafers are perfect for the office. And they’re not too high, so you’ll be able to walk in them all day. Another trend inspired by the 16th century are chain accessories. While you could go really bold with this trend (i.e. layered chain necklaces and bracelets), a hint would be just enough for the office with these chain earrings.

40s: Mules and Muted Tones
Whether you love them or hate them, mules are here to stay. Open-toed mules were definitely a summer trend, but now that fall is here, close-toed is the way to go. The open back makes it easy to slip the shoes on, especially if you’re in a hurry. By pairing the camel color of the shoes with the cream sweater and beige jacket, you create a semi-monochromatic look. Monochromatic looks with muted tones exude elegance and make the outfit look cohesive.

50s: Houndstooth and Hot Pink
This season’s hottest color is hot pink, because who doesn’t love a pop of color? Adding hints of color is always a good way to make an outfit more interesting. By incorporating the pink with a staple black dress, you don’t overpower the look, but instead, complement it. Pink accessories like a silk scarf tied onto a simple black bag actually tie in the whole look. A houndstooth overcoat is the perfect print to use with a look like this, because while still neutral, it brings texture to the outfit. It’s also not too busy, which keeps the look classy.
