Looking for some fun, outdoor events to attend during the month of July? Look no further. This time of year is a great time for outdoor festivals or markets because it’s a beautiful way to spend these long, summer days. Many of us wait all year for summer to arrive, and now that it’s finally here, spending it outside and enjoying the weather is the best way to seize the season. Check out some of these festivals and events happening in the Susquehanna Valley throughout the month of July.
1. HBG Flea

The HBG Flea market is a one-stop location for all your favorite artisans around central Pennsylvania. Handmade and vintage vendors set up shop and showcase their art, apparel, food, and much more. It’s all completely homemade and local, so you’re supporting the community as well as getting some one-of-a-kind items. HBG Flea’s goal is to not only support local artisans, but bring everyone in the community together to empower and help each other grow in their respective businesses and artistic endeavors. Additionally, it is also to celebrate the beautiful city of Harrisburg and also shows what makes central Pennsylvania so unique.
2. 2019 Dauphin County Brew Fest

If you’re a lover of beer, or even if you're a beginner who simply wants to broaden your horizons, the 8th annual Dauphin County Brew Fest is somewhere you want to be this summer. With over 50 craft beers available to try, as well as multiple food trucks to satisfy any other cravings, this festival celebrating the best craft beers. Not only can you try the beers, but you can meet and chat with the actual brewers themselves. What better way to celebrate these locally crafted beers than with a nice cold one on a hot, summer day?
3. Summer Festival at Buddy Boy Winery and Vineyards

Buddy Boy Winery in Duncannon is hosting a two-day summer festival to celebrate the their upcoming, new wine release. Enjoy the day with music provided by local bands, Phipps and Phriends on Saturday and Jack’s Back Sunday on Sunday. They will have a wine bar, complete with their award-winning wines, wine slushies, and even craft beer available on tap for anyone who isn’t much of a wine person. There will also be over 20 vendors there to peruse and browse. It’s a great way to spend the day with only a $5 admission.
4. The Susquehanna Folk Festival
July 26-28: 378 Old York Road, New Cumberland, PA, susquehannafolkfestival.com
This outdoor festival celebrates and supports the local arts from our community in the Susquehanna Valley. Artists such as BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet, Cherish the Ladies, Hot Club of Cowtown, Pride of New York, and many more will take the stage with each of their distinctive sounds. In addition to the live music, the festival hosts different dance workshops, craft instruction, and even a performance from The Give and Take Jugglers who incorporate aerial tricks, music, vaudeville, and comedy into their routines. Food such as sandwiches, wraps, burgers, salads, and other snacks will be available provided by Altland House Catering while beer and wine will be sold by local wineries as well.

5. Pride Fest of Central PA

Central Pennsylvania is hosting its 27th annual Pride Fest to show support for and celebrate members of the LBBTQ+ community. There will be multiple entertainers, including headliner Aja, drag queen from New York, as well as performers based in Pennsylvania, such as Half Past Seven, Crossfire3, Haela, That Band..., and Julian Andrews. A fun, inclusive, and celebratory event to attend this summer and hear some local artists too.
