Tips for a Fabulous Fourth of July

As the Fourth of July is rapidly approaching, it can be overwhelming knowing where to go, what to wear, and what to bring. We’ve got you covered with tips and tricks to have your most fabulous Fourth of July yet.
WHERE TO WATCH
Taste of Independence Food Truck & Fireworks Show: This event will take place from 3-9 p.m. followed by fireworks at 9:15 p.m. at Riverfront Park in Harrisburg. There will be live music and almost 40 foods trucks, making it the largest firework show in Central PA. Apart from the food, there will be five local vineyards in attendance, where you can purchase wine by the glass or bottle. For the kids, there will be free activities including balloon animals, face painting, and crafts.
Long’s Park July 4th Fireworks and Concert: On June 30, join the US Army Band “Pershings Own” at Long’s Park Amphitheater in Lancaster for a free concert followed by a spectacular firework show. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Make sure to come hungry because numerous food vendors will be in attendance.
Wrightsville Fourth of July Celebration: The festivities begin at 10 a.m. at the Wrightsville Memorial Playground at Fourth and Orange Streets. At 10 a.m, there will be a Susquehanna Fish and Game trap shoot ad a bicycle contest at the playground. Activities will continue until 4:30 p.m. with events like a pet show, frisbee contest, a baby show, and much more. At the Hope U.M. Church starting at 11 a.m. will be a chicken barbeque. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

WHAT TO MAKE
Red White and Blue Watermelon Salad
Ingredients:
- 1 medium watermelon
- Fresh blackberries, about 1 cup
- 2 ounces feta cheese
- Juice of 1 lime
- ¼ cup chopped mint leaves
Instructions:
1. Cut the watermelon to your preference, if you want to get extra festive, use a star cookie cutter to cut the watermelon.
2. Toss everything in a bowl and serve cold.
