My husband and I have been together for 16 years, and married for 11. Like you would most likely expect, I know him pretty well. Until the holiday season rolls around and I all of a sudden become clueless as to what his likes and dislikes are. What do I get him? What does he want? I don’t know what to get him!
Anyone else have that same problem? Not just for my husband, but for my cousin, my best friend, my mom. For me, when the panic starts to set in, I start to think outside the box. I step away for the typical gifts you would expect a wife to get for her husband, or a daughter to get for her mother.
This year, I am being proactive and finding great, outside-the-box gifts for both him and her. No need to stress over what to get that person you know so well but are impossible to shop for!
For Him
This Smartphone Projector is every gadget lover’s dream. How perfect to set up outside on a warm night for a makeshift drive in, or camp out on the living room floor to watch your favorite movie or reminisce about your favorite vacation.
Have a beer lover? This Beer Cap map is perfect. You can customize to any state while they get to work filling in the map with all of their beer caps. This is a great addition to any man cave or at home bar!
For Her
Does she love to cook? Maybe she has a lot of family recipes she loves to play around with in the kitchen. This customizable My Family Cookbook is the place to store all of those perfect family recipes, with room to add your own!
Have a lady in your life who just loves just about everything? Try a monthly subscription box like the POPSUGAR MustHave Box. What is great about this monthly box is that you get a variety of items from jewelry, to beauty products, to books, to food. Each month is different, and you actually get full size products, which is great. I have purchased this subscription services as gifts multiples times before and it’s always a hit!
For Him and Her
This might be my favorite thing I found, and something that I will be trying out with my husband. I just mentioned a great subscription box service for her, but did you know there is one for couples? It’s called DateBox and it sounds amazing! You can purchase month to month if you like, or a three month or six month plan. Each month, the box arrives on your door step with everything you need for your date night. Boxes include things like dance class DVDs, ingredients to make cake pops together, or items to make your own sushi!
In our busy lives, we often forget to take a minute or two for each other, or even think date nights have to be going out somewhere. Wait until the kids are put to bed, or you have a free night at home and dive into a DateBox!
Hopefully these few ideas point you in the right direction. That unique gift for the special someone is out there. Don’t overthink it, just have fun!
