I think it is safe to safe the warm weather is here to stay. Mother Nature has decided to let us get a little extra Vitamin D so we break out our spring/summer wardrobe.
Along with the change of the season comes new trends. Like most trends, they can be easy to incorporate into your current wardrobe, regardless of whether or not you want to go all out with the trend, or would rather approach the trend with smaller touches using accessories.
I’ve rounded up a few summer trends that you can expect to see. Go ahead, give them a try!
1. Pompoms: This trend is something that you could go all in on, or just add a subtle touch to your look if you aren’t ready for full throttle pompoms! From maxi dresses trimmed with adorable pompoms or pillows to add a little spunk to your living space, this trend can brighten up any look.
2. Tassels/Fringe: Like pompoms, this is another trend that can be easy to incorporate with accessories whether it’s a pair of sandals or a great fringe bag. My personal favorite is sporting a pair of sandals with a little bit of fringe.
3. Boho inspired: Think flowy and loose fitting, but flattering. This trend looks great on all body types, and is an effortless but put-together style.
4. Chokers: Yes, you read that right! Chokers are back and they look better than ever. From suede, and velvet to delicate gold chains, this simple accessory can give your look a feminine edge. So if you saved your chokers from the 90s, you’re in luck and now’s the time to rock them again!
5. Straw totes: I feel like I had straw totes when I was in high school and in college (late 90’s/early 00’s). I should have kept them! The current straw tote trend has been taken up a notch or two. Think embellishments like tassels, pompoms (yep, those trends again) and beads. They are perfect for an everyday bag or a great beach/pool bag, too.
6. Off shoulder everything: Shirts? Off the shoulder. Dresses? Off the shoulder. This can be a tricky trend for some–it is definitely not for everyone. The key to pulling off this trend is to find the right strapless bra. A lot of great strapless pieces can also be worn over the shoulder, making them a little more versatile. I love the effortless, chic look of off the shoulder dresses and tops.
