5 TIPS FOR LOOKING FAB AT A BRIDAL SHOWER
Wedding season is here and with that comes bridal showers! It may seem like you’re going to a bridal shower or wedding every other week. I’m no stranger to the "what will I wear" dilemma when opening the invitation. This is the PERFECT opportunity to factor in your feminine separates and picture perfect dresses to wear to the shower.
It’s all about keeping the venue in mind as well as keeping-it-simply-chic. As you choose your outfit, consider these tips.
1. DON’T Wear White or Cream
Let the bride-to-be shine. However, if the white or cream piece is either a top or skirt and has an all-over print, consider yourself safe.

2. Color and Fabric Matter
Bridal showers are meant to be a happy celebration. Light pastel or bright bold colors keep your outfit fun. Lace and floral prints are a perfect choice. Steer away from an all-black ensemble or shiny fabric. It’s an easy and effortless go-to, but black is best for night events, not a daytime bridal shower.
3. Keep the Time and Venue in Mind
Do your research before putting your outfit together. Where and what time is the bridal shower? If the shower is at a family member's house, then dress causal conservatively-ish (think church luncheon); depending on your top and accessories, jeans can be acceptable. Leave your sneakers at home if you’re attending a bridal shower at a country club, and never wear stiletto heels to a backyard bridal shower. The time of the event will speak to what kind of attire will be appropriate. Typically daytime showers will be more modest than an evening shower.
4. The Style of the Bride-to-be
Keep her style in mind when it comes to deciphering the ‘vibe’ of her shower.
5. Keep it Modest
The no-fail question to ask is, “What would Kate Middleton wear?” Keep your outfit modest. Nothing too short or too tight. Sheath dresses and midi skirts are a safe bet.
