Summer is the season of barbecues, picnics and endless opportunities to rock patriotic attire! Summer 2016 is especially full of reasons to wear red, white and blue because not only is there Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day, but there’s also the always anticipated Summer Olympics!
That’s why Susquehanna Style has themed our summer 2016 parties: “cheer on & cheers to America!” By the way, if you haven’t already saved the date for our parties, it’s time to put them on your calendar. Join us to celebrate the best businesses that you voted for, sample tastes from the winners, mix and mingle with other Style Insiders, play games and more.

To get you through all of your summers fetes (including our “Best of” parities) all you need is one really good patriotic outfit. Plus, these timeless and classic colors are great for any time of year.
5 ways to wear red, white & blue all summer:
1. Preppy Parade
Pearls, plaid and preppy. A classic navy or red skirt paired with a white button down and pearls can take you from work, to cocktail hour and beyond.

2. Declaration of Denim
Denim is back and perfect for any occasion because it’s easily dressed up or down. This outfit would be perfect paired with red Keds for a cookout or with a red statement necklace and heels for happy hour. Although, we love the sneaker trend right now, so there’s a valid argument to take your Keds to happy hour, too. White denim is also fantastic to throw into the mix especially if you still believe you can only wear white pants between Memorial Day and Labor Day (cough, cough, our art director Katie).

3. Let Florals Ring
Inky, blue florals and delftware inspired patterns are totally in! This is a lovely, subtle way to wear the season’s colors with a pretty twist.

4. Nation of Nautical
Classic white and navy stripes paired with a red accessory, need we say more?

5. Subtle Stars & Stripes
We get it, not everyone is a sucker for a good theme. So, if don’t love the colors red and navy blue or you have a different outfit in mind, just add a subtle hint of it. For men it could be some cool socks. For women, your nail color or a red accessory. This way no one can call you out for totally ignoring the theme (which, we would never do, by the way) and you still get to do you!

PS: Did we mention there will be a “most spirited contest” at all three of our parties this summer?! So dress up like Uncle Sam, or take one of these more subtle approaches, either way, we hope you can make it!
Here’s to summer…in Style!
