New Year's Eve Service: Advice for a Happy New Year

Start the New Year off with a peaceful mind and a happy heart. In this talk Resident Teacher Julie Francisco will give practical teachings that we can use to cultivate happiness within our own mind as well as in our relationships, families, and communities. After the service we will enjoy refreshments and social time. Everyone is welcome at this special New Year’s Eve event.
Julie Francisco is the Resident Teacher of Kalpa Bhadra Kadampa Buddhist Center. Julie has studied and taught Kadampa Buddhism for many years. She has also engaged in extensive meditation retreat and is well-qualified to introduce others into Buddha’s teachings and meditation practices. She previously served as the Education Program Coordinator at Amitayus Kadampa Buddhist Center in Philadelphia while also working a regular job in the corporate sector. Julie shows a clear example of how to be a modern, lay Buddhist practitioner in a busy city, and presents Buddha’s teachings in an eloquent and inspiring manner.
