The Imani Winds quintet comes to Susquehanna as part of the university’s 2016–17 Martha Barker Blessing Musician-in-Residence Series. Since 1997, the quintet has performed in the leading concert halls of the world. The group’s Legacy Commissioning Project is dedicated to commissioning, premiering and touring new works for woodwind quintet written by established and emerging composers of diverse musical backgrounds. The quintet is recognized for its adventurous programming, which customarily features works with African, Latin American and North American influences.
