The theme: An enchanted woodland, woven by the florist, wedding planner and couple. They combined the Beauty–bohemian fairy lights, extravagant table décor, and moss-covered furniture—and Zach’s nickname, The Beast–antlers and pheasant feathers. Flower-crowned guests danced under chandeliers and the stars at this private estate.
The details: A magical bower of oaks was dressed up boho-chic style, with woodsy blooms, bejeweled candles, and a moss-covered cake. Hanging lanterns and a stick teepee, along with decorative pillows and rugs, lent a gypsy feel. Tall white tapers, draped purple napkins and delicate china plates rested on farmhouse tables. The dessert table, with its pies and macarons set on royal pedestals hung with crystals, was straight out of a fairy tale. A mimosa bar plus his and hers cocktails (Man Fuel margarita and Gypsy Juice sangria) kept guests partying.
The moment: During their first dance, fireflies danced around the bride in her Cinderella dress.
The proposal: It’s hard to surprise Kelley, but Zach sprung a battlefield horseback tour in Gettysburg on her. At Pickett’s Charge, the guide stopped so Zach could dismount. When Kelley looked down, he was on one knee.
The find: A borrowed VW bus for an instant photo booth.
The serendipity: A Facebook like for the photographer won them a free engagement session.
The hitch: Since it wasn’t a venue per se, they had to relocate the horses to another field and cut the tall grass…three times. The night before, they were up till midnight wrapping the tree lights.
The quote: Zach: “We love each other so much, we decided to get married twice in one day.” (Official vows at the Catholic church, renewals in the woods.)
The getaway: Two honeymoons for two different personalities: the beach (Punta Cana) and a 4-wheeler jungle ride for Zach, then, later, the city (Amsterdam) for Kelley.
