THE THEME: Guests entered a whimsical woodland, where fairies flitting with glittering wings were also known as flower girls, and the queen of the enchanted forest wore a crown of ferns and flowers. In these woods, nuptials were called love celebrations. Cares were banished, a greenhouse transformed into a ceremonial chamber shrouded in mist, and all guests were invited to be comfortable.
MEANT TO BE: Kermit finally bought the RV he’d always wanted and planned a California trip to see his brother. Kermit’s brother’s wife suggested that her friend Trinity hitch a ride. Trinity hesitated but finally made the phone call. On a seven-thousand-mile cross-country trip, two strangers fell in love.
THE EATS: Trinity and Kermit wanted to gather friends and family in joy. When guests asked how they could help, they were told to bring a potluck dish. And they did. Seafood, soup, homemade pies. Best food they’d ever eaten, everyone said.
THE SURPRISE: Kermit was shocked. Couples pick out their wedding rings together? Shouldn’t they be a surprise? Bride and groom presented handmade rings to each other during the ceremony. Kermit’s design was inspired by bark on a tree, to fit the wedding theme and reflect his love of the woods. Trinity’s delight at her birthstone, aquamarine, nestled in waves of diamonds showed on her face.
AN EVEN BETTER SURPRISE: Kermit’s brother and sister-in-law, Noah and Valen, couldn’t make the wedding from California, so they sent a video tribute for the rehearsal dinner. Or so Trinity and Kermit thought. Just as the DJ hit play, in walked Noah and Valen. Sharing his thoughts about the couple and their destiny, Noah said, “This just goes to show you the power of one phone call.”
