Baby Boutiques Galore
Two stylish new boutiques featuring children’s items, The Snazzy Giraffe and K. Marie Baby, have opened at The Shops at Walden in Mechanicsburg.
The Snazzy Giraffe, previously located in Lemoyne, offers quality items, including organic and made-in-the-USA selections, and features fashionable clothing brands such as JoJo Maman Bebe, Haute Baby, Appaman, Hudson, and Mack & Co. Clothing sizes range from newborn to size six. In addition, the boutique has a selection of toys, games, stuffed animals, bows, blankets, and hats by designers such as Little Giraffe, Melissa & Doug, Crocodile Creek, and Ganz. The Snazzy Giraffe is perfect for anyone who wants to treat a child or grandchild to a fabulous gift. And if your child happens to be a furry, four-legged friend, don’t worry: the Snazzy Giraffe offers designer dog collars and leashes to make them feel loved, too.
The equally fabulous K. Marie Baby, previously located in Carlisle, has a selection of designer shoes, clothing, and gifts for children and features brands such as Kidorable, Elegant Baby, and Barefoot Dreams. UGG shoes in baby and toddler sizes are available to add the finishing touch to any look. When you leave K. Marie Baby with your purchases in hand, you can head next door to the women’s boutique, K. Marie & Co., to treat yourself to a gift as well.

Girls Pint Out
Beer is not just for men: this is the message that Girls Pint Out aims to communicate to women. Originally founded in Indianapolis, Girls Pint Out is a registered non-profit that educates women about craft beer while empowering them to be an active part of the beer community. Girls Pint Out is a national organization, but a Susquehanna Valley chapter was founded by Nicole Matero and Kimberly Moffett in July 2014. The group’s events are held on the third Thursday of the month and are educational, charitable, and social. There is no membership process; potential participants just need to show up at an event to take part in it. Participants may also sign up for the monthly newsletter written by board member Amber DeGrace. Today, the organization is over fifty chapters strong and has spread throughout the United States and Puerto Rico in order to connect women with the art of craft beer.

Make a Wish
Strolling through picturesque downtown Lititz, visitors will find the Moravian Church, a variety of shops and eateries to suit every interest and taste, and ducks ambling in Lititz Springs Park. Adding to the charm of the town is Wish Cafe and Herb Shop, formerly Pop’s Coffee Shop. Items offered in the cafe include pastries and smoothies, as well as lunch fare like soups, salads, and sandwiches. Coffee drinks use fair trade, organic beans from around the world, and the coffee is ground before brewing each individual cup. Tea and hot chocolate are also on the menu. In addition to food, the shop offers tins of herbs and spices, medicinal herbs, and loose teas. You can even choose to leave your favorite mug in the shop, so that it can be filled with a cup of bottomless coffee the next time that you stop in for a visit.

Sweet Treats
If you are craving something sweet, look no further than Honeybun Donuts. The Lebanon business offers classic doughnut flavors such as glazed, chocolate iced, powdered, and filled, but they also provide some unique combinations: Long Johns topped with bacon or glazed doughnuts sprinkled with cereal are available for the more adventurous palate. Other breakfast options include burritos, sandwiches, bagels, and kolaches (a smoked sausage wrapped in a glazed doughnut). Although you can always take your food to go, if you’re not in a hurry, the shop offers café-style seating where customers can enjoy their treats. Honeybun Donuts even updates their Facebook page with daily offerings so that you can arrive and get your doughnuts while they are still warm.

What does Memorial Day mean to you?
“Memorial Day means the day we remember the sacrifices of those no longer here and celebrate those we love who also sacrificed and made it through.” - Elisa Scharf
